The story of the
Greek American immigrant in the New York City area will
be told in a slide show narrative which will include l50
photographs entitled “Our Story-Our People”
on Monday, April l6 , 6 p.m.
at the Astoria Branch of the Queens Borough Public Library,
Broadway and 43 Street. This fascinating
program will trace the untold story of this under-documented
group from their arrival in New York City the early l800’s
to the present. It will show their impact on trades flower,
food, fur, and candy. It will trace these impgrents’
imprint on various communities in the metropolitan area.
The program will be presented by Katherine R. Boulukos and
Anastasia Nicholas, Co-Founders of The Greek Museum, the
Center for Greek American Heritage.
The
program will also be given on Monday,
April 24, 2006 at 6;30 on the 6th floor of the Mid Manhattan
Library, The New York Public Library, 40th Street and 5th
Avenue, New York NY. Admission is free

Long Island, the program will be presented on Wednesday,
March 22, at the Freeport Public Library, 144 West Merrick
Road, Freeport at 2:pm. Free.
